        There will be one Link Analysis Paper that you will be expected to complete and email

             to me at mona_baarson@jccmi.edu .

             The purpose of the writing project is to increase your awareness of breaking news in science

              or technology and provide an opportunity for you to improve your research and writing skill

              set.  The connection between science or technology and mathematics may not be evident in your

              readings, however, mathematics does play an important role in supporting discoveries in these

              areas. 

             The writing project is an evaluation of internet links of interest.  You will need to determine a

              "cutting-edge" topic in science or technology that interests you.  You will then find 8 sites on

              the internet that relate to your chosen topic and critique them.

Guidelines for Link-Analysis Paper

• Having decided the science or technology topic that interests you, find 8 sites related to that topic and critique them. The paper should contain the title (if appropriate) and addresses of each site followed by the critique of the site.
• Each critique should include two brief paragraphs. The first summarizes the site and the second evaluates the quality of the site and your reaction to the content of the site. 
• The link analysis paper must be typed in WORD (or RTF) and single-spaced. It should be two-three pages in length.  
• The paper should be emailed to me at  mona_baarson@jccmi.edu .  You may either email it to me as an attachment, or if that is problematic, cut and paste it into the email itself.  I understand that you might lose some formatting if you have to imbed it in the email.  

Grading of Link-Analysis Paper
10 points - Eight sites listed and are interesting
15 points - Correct sentence structure, paragraph form, and reference identification
20 points - Paper/project accurately reflected sites and apparent thought was given to evaluation of sites and content on sites
5 points - No more than 5 spelling errors or typos
50 points - Total

            This Link Analysis Paper will be assigned in Class Calendar with Assignments and Due Dates

I ask that the "Link Analysis Paper" be completed and e-mailed to me by the due date. "Link Analysis Paper" may be completed early , however, it will not be accepted after the due date.
