This Introduction to Information Technology
course is designed to make the student computer literate. Computer concepts
are introduced with an emphasis on state-of-the-art information technologies
and Microsoft Office 2007 software
utilization. This course is taken by students who
are interested in learning more about computers and information technology and
want to develop basic skills using
computer hardware and multiple software
packages.

Requirements
*** Each
student taking this online Introduction to Computers course must have access
to the Microsoft Office 2007 suite of applications.
The course will include the
use of: Microsoft Word 2007, Microsoft Excel 2007, and Microsoft PowerPoint
2007. ***
- Students must have a basic understanding of the Windows operating system;
- Students must purchase the Course Materials listed below;
- Students will be required to access the course website to obtain and complete their weekly assignments.
- Students will complete weekly online lecture and lab assignments;
- Students will complete weekly application specific projects;
- Students will successfully complete three online computer concepts exams;
- Students will successfully complete one online comprehensive Microsoft Word Exam, one online comprehensive Microsoft Excel Exam, and one online Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation;
The Microsoft Office 2007 software is installed on all
JCC computer classroom and
open lab machines. The software can also be purchased at a student rate from
