Is This Course for You?

Many of the best jobs of the future don’t even exist today.
You are in a position to create your own! BUA 100 will help you update your skills and learn new ones.

  • Do you have what it takes to be a leader?

  • Do you know what to do when faced with an ethical dilemma?

  • Can you scan the environment and analyze information so that you'll never be surprised by a downsizing or layoff?

  • What 3 words do you never use in business?

  • How do you make a million dollars, for yourself and your company?

These questions and many more will be answered, as the world of business is so very different from just a few years ago. However, no matter what profession you are in, there will always be a budget, employees, customers, meetings, legal issues, public relations, hiring and firing.

You could work in a police station, school, golf course, manufacturing plant, hospital, dental office, school, travel agency, home-based business, graphic design firm, church, newspaper, or a sporting goods store.

So this is the right course if you ever intend to work somewhere, someday!

What Students Tell Their Friends About This Course:

  1. I like being able to log on at any time of day or night. It's neat to work at my own pace. You can study when you have the time and then take the quiz any time during the week that it is due. The professor is easy to talk to. Informative announcements are posted and on a personal level just like in a classroom setting.

  2. If you want to learn the basics of business, which is basically anyone who wants to work for a living, then this is the course for you. Everything was posted for the complete course on the first day of class. Anyone thinking about taking this course must allow yourself the time to do the reading.

  3. Use the extra help offered through PowerPoint presentations, outlines, and sample quizzes for each chapter. Use the online study guide.

  4. I like the flexibility but that makes it easy to get behind. Set up a schedule for yourself and stick to it. Read everything that is posted and you'll know how to be successful in this course.

  5. I would tell my friends that you have to be focused to take this course, since you can not turn in late work. If you want to, you can finish this course faster then it's supposed to be done, which is nice. For future students I would say be sure to read each chapter along with the PowerPoint presentations before taking a test, and to ask if you did not understand something.

  6. STUDY often and hard. This course is not a piece of cake just because you are doing it at your pace and in your own location. You have to be a self starter! You cannot afford to lose track of time when you take this class.

  7. This course takes time and just because it's online doesn't mean you don't have to study, that just means you have to study a different way than if you were taking the course in a face-to-face class. I would also suggest if you are not good at self taught classes then you should take the class in a regular classroom setting.

  8. Keep track of the deadlines. If you can't read and write at the college level, you'll have trouble in this course.
