Everyone needs customer service. Why?

Yes, every one is a customer. None of us alone produces all that we need and want. We depend on others for products and services, information, support, or satisfying their needs as well.

Excellent customer service is hard to find.  Everyone talks about it, but few understand it.
Customer service is more than simply smiling and being polite. It is complicated by the fact that today's customer is smarter, more demanding, and more mobile than ever.

And yet, a company or an organization is only as good as the service it gives.

So what do you do to provide customer satisfaction and contentment in your professional and personal relationships? When you go out of your way to provide excellent customer service, work and school become more fun and more fulfilling; as a result, positive relationships with others develop.

“A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us; we are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work; he is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business; he is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him; he is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so.” –Mahatma Gandhi

It is essential that you stay up-to-date; you may work ahead.  The course moves quickly. No late work is accepted.

What Students Tell Their Friends After They Have Taken This Course:

  1. Work ahead to give yourself a little break when you need it or finish up early.

  2. It really isn't like a regular college course in many ways; I was sorry to see it end so soon. Jump into Hallway Chatter right away and start talking to folks.

  3. No matter what, don't expect to turn in assignments late. This is one professor that doesn’t take any excuses for late work; trust me, I tried with all of the lines that used to work for me before.

  4. This course applies to life: you'll learn how to change your life in little ways by improving your attitude and your expectations, and what you put out there to people.

  5. The instructor answers emails quickly.   She's pretty approachable and has lots of neat ideas. She also walks the talk.

  6. It was neat to think and talk about all the ways you could improve your skills to get a promotion or make more money as these are skills you can use on any job. I really liked the self-assessment CD.

  7. The online quizzes are neat. I like knowing what the grade is as soon as I complete it. I can check my grade anytime in the online grade book.  You never have to come to campus for this Internet course.

  8. We don't read textbooks in here. The books are right from your corner bookstore and are interesting and right to the point information about customer service. They are interesting too.
